Bhanu Shrivastav is a visual and performance artist from Hansi, Haryana, currently based in Bangalore. He completed his Master of Visual Arts in Printmaking and Expanded Media from the Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad (2024), and his Bachelor's degree in Printmaking from the Government College of Art, Chandigarh (2022).

His practice, rooted in migration, memory, and materiality, draws from his lived experiences of displacement, labor, and ecological imbalance. Influenced by the multicultural and multilingual realities he has encountered, Bhanu explores human behavior through the lenses of anthropology, epistemology, and environmental consciousness. His work critically reflects on our existence within the universe, emphasizing shared space, sensitivity, and the ephemeral nature of life.

Initially trained as a printmaker, Bhanu’s early works invited viewer interaction through tactile and participatory modes. During his Master’s program, his practice transitioned into performance art, where he now creates sensorial, liminal experiences, often grounded in indigenous rituals, folklore, and humanitarian engagement. He frequently uses elemental materials like water, ash, coal, and earth to realign his practice with global ecological concerns.

Bhanu’s performances often take place in public and transitional spaces, sites of labor, memory, or loss, where he collaborates with local communities, incorporating their oral histories, rituals, and ecological realities. These participatory performances, alongside his print and mixed-media works, form a multidisciplinary language that speaks to resilience, transformation, and environmental accountability.

He utilizes technology, photographic documentation, projection mapping, sound, and videoas an extension of his body and voice, ensuring his work remains accessible across diverse contexts and audiences.
